History

The story of the nymphs and the boggart, at Hawley Meadows near Camberley, is one of Hampshire County Council's later Story Trails: easy-access walks of around a mile, each with its own story to share with children. Its opening was put back. The council's Story Trails page of December 2012 says it had postponed the opening of this low-lying riverside trail until spring 2013 because of wet ground conditions, to launch it in the Easter holidays 2013; the page as it stood in November 2013 still announced a launch in the summer holidays 2013 and also listed it as new, with a story bag to borrow from Farnborough Library. The story is about water nymphs, a boggart and wood nymphs (dryads), and retells the old tale of the woodcutter's three wishes.
