Check before you go
The Directory brings together routes published by many bodies and mapped by volunteers. Lines, lengths, heights and facts can be out of date or wrong. This is not a navigation app: use the route’s own waymarks, an up-to-date map and your own judgement, check conditions, and look after yourself and the people with you. We can’t be responsible for what happens on a walk.
Ours, not official
The codes and the numbering are ours (see how the numbering works). They are not an official system, and nothing here means a route is endorsed by the body that looks after it.
Your log
Your log works on the honour system: you tick off what you walked. It’s free. Keep anything you write in a public log or note civil, and don’t use the site to bother anyone. We may remove content or close accounts that break this.
Other people’s work
Route data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence. Heights come from OS Terrain 50 (Ordnance Survey, Open Government Licence). Photos are credited where they appear, under their own licences. Facts and histories link to their sources.
Changes
This is a young project. Features may change or stop, and these terms may change; the date above says when.
