History
The Great Trossachs Path was built as part of the Great Trossachs Forest Gateways project, which received a Heritage Lottery Fund award of £872,300 in September 2011. The project was led by Forestry Commission Scotland and Woodland Trust Scotland, working with the RSPB, BP and private landowners, and also built two visitor gateway centres.
The path was launched in April 2015. It runs through the Great Trossachs Forest, a woodland restoration area managed jointly by Forestry and Land Scotland, RSPB Scotland and Woodland Trust Scotland.
