History

The Borders Abbeys Way opened in 2006. It is a circular route linking the ruined abbeys of Kelso, Jedburgh, Melrose and Dryburgh, which were founded by David I of Scotland in the 12th century and were home to monks until the 16th century.

It is managed and maintained by Scottish Borders Council.
