Car-free walks

1,066 walks and sections of longer routes you can get to and from without a car: a railway station within a kilometre of both ends, or a station at one end and a bus stop at the other. Walk one way and take the train back.

We know where the stations and stops are, not how often anything runs, so check the timetable before you set off, especially on Sundays and in winter. Heritage railways are left out. In The Directory, tick “Car-free” under More filters to combine this with a length or a place.
